And it knocks the spots off all the other streamers I have wasted money on over the years.

What else have you tried that did not live up to expectation ?

Thanks. I have looked at the reviews and am surprised it is not distinguished more against its predecessor.

Have you tried running high data .wav files through it ?

Yes I think I have (I have a 24/192khz eagles album)

Only 1 extension it will not play, and that is ape.

iTunes have never sounded as good as they do now.

For once I can say I have a very wide stereo image, left to right, as well as presence front to back.

It really does sound like the band in in the front room.

They are a German company, gunning for the sonos market, as I can add more units for multi room. Or like I do turn it up :D

I should point out, the unit has no remote control.

Apart from the on/off button on the top of the unit.

All controls are operated via the app.

Couple of photos of the app.

Some other checks though

First up, raw audio

High Definition Audio Test Files

Wav files converted to flac

2L High Resolution Music .:. free TEST BENCH

A list of varying audio formats

Index of /example-file/audio

(the parent directory also has AV samples, which is where my current workload appears to be)

A test to determine - blindly - what people might hear and what is perceived

Public Listening Test of codecs MP3, AAC MP4, OGG Vorbis and Opus.

The samples

Public Multiformat Listening Test (July 2014)

Vorbis (opus)

Index of /A-codecs/opus

Thanks for the links, I have just bookmarked them, so I can have a read at some point.

Been having some problems with Coco radio through there tunin radio app embedded in there firmware.

Also the tunin radio app didn't play coco radio.

So on Monday I sent an email to Raumfeld asking about the dead links.

Today I get an email from Raumfeld,

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding Raumfeld, we will do our best to answer your questions.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing trouble with our devices.
Does the Coco Radio function if you try to play it in the original Tune In app?

TuneIn is the service that we use in order to stream radio channels via our products,
you yourself can contact TuneIn to request them to integrade Coco radio into their app.

Once they have integrated it into their network there should be of no problem to stream it from our devices."

At least now the tunin app plays coco radio now, hasn't all week.

Now I am regretting this purchase.

Well I have finally taken the lid off, looking to see if I maybe able to reflash it to something that works...

What's the number on the Cirrus Logic chip?

Yes, that's a far better image. It's a ten year old design. Nothing wrong with that, unless the circuit around it has been built on the cheap or out of manufacturer's recommendations.

Have you checked the Pi sites for people doing similar ?
