For many years I have had a Humax box running with a positioner - no problems. Now upgraded to DreamBox DM800se clone, all set up, receiving channels OK, got channel list from web... (I am fairly used to *nix systems, so not too bad)

two questions: -

I have got the box streaming content over the local network using VLC on our computers to play it - uses a long http address.
What I want to do is password protect the Web Interface so my kids can't just look at the ip address in the media.m3u file and then find the web interface unprotected, but I also want it so they don't have to put in a password to access the stream, or so I don't need to put the password in the http address of the m3u file where they can find it.

Also I don't know that much about using the box itself... I have all these channels available, but we only really only look at a small fraction of them (in 3 different languages), and some of them have some adult content. I want to be able to set it so most channels are not even visible (so they don't know the channels exist) but so that we as the adults can get to them if we wish. How would I do this? Is it possible to set up a list of favourites that they can use, but they can't change lists at all without a password.

Remember, my kids (like many nowadays) are quite computer savvy, and can work out things... ;-)

From the info section of the web interface:
Devicename:dm800se
Enigma Version:ramiMAHER-experimental
Image Version:Release SVN(093), 14-09-2011
Frontprozessor Version:V1
Webinterface Version:1.6.8

Thanks in advance -
