Newbie - Couple of Questions

Been on cable for years, and now Nagra3 has been rolled out i'm looking into Sat C/S.

Looked through the guides which look straight forward

I'm thinking of C/S between close family (me, sis & bro) so will be sharing with another 2 external boxes over the net using dreambox 500s

1. is the 500s best for a budget box for c/s?
2. can i use my dreambox as a server and a client or would i need 2 boxes (client & server)?
3. i take it i need a valid sat subscription with the highest package if we want all the channels?
4. i'm planning on using c/s - i wont need to mess around with moving the dish as i will be using a valid subscribed card with a fixed dish?
5. if i wanted to go HD is the DM800s the best budget box for this - dont want to spend alot on a box. Also if i wanted to go HD would i have to subscribe to the sat HD package too?
 
1. Define best... best for what picture.....speed..... blind scan..... remote operation?

4. Just bear in mind anti c/s measure may be implemented anytime if considering sharing the sky package

3. If i want to view entertainment, movies & sports packs i suspect i would have to subscribe to those packages?
5. is the 800s the best box for HD which is under £200 or would you recommend gettting another?
 
Just remember Sky UK will be running out new anti c/s protocols in the near future which will almost certainly knock out all c/s'ing
 
For under £70 you are looking at clones for a 500. Hit and miss - read the threads. Cheap could become a waste of money. The DM500HD is the cheapest (and VERY good) HD box from dreambox. There are other boxes with varying reports of performance. But I will stick with dreambox as they have been around for a long time and hopefully will be around for much longer if clones don't put them out of business.
