I am probably of the school where a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, even with an old fashioned radio amteur background! But I*'m learning fast!

My Sky dish has an old? grundig LNB and in testing via services I have 90% sig quality on low band vertical and horizontal, 60% sig quality on hiband vertical and mostly zero sig quality on hiband horizontal, so kept losing Sky Sports etc.
Digi box is Pace 430 new this year, but only installed here this week, replacing an original Grundig box past it's best.

Does this mean an LNB replacement, and if so what is the best to buy.

Thanks in advance

Barry

yes you could need a new lnb but also test the sky receiver on another dish if you can but most likely the lnb is the cause

they are cheap anyway around 10quid for a quad lnb on ebay

LNB´s are quite cheap and fairly easy to come across, they are also very easy to change, all you really need is a screwdriver.

also the sky minidish ones have a preset skew so you dont have to turn the lnb in the collar to better the signal

Thanks Guys

New lnb in place and all working well with good signal quality numbers on hi/loband V and H.

Now I can watch us getting thrashed in the cricket without Sky Sports locking up.

Cheers

I agree, I would of left it broke so you didn't have to endure the embarassment

There are adaptors available to convert the sky lnb bracket to take the 40mm type lnb`s.
