I'm starting from scratch, want a system to recieve from HOTBIRD, SKY,HISPASAT. I have a chance to get a Echostar DSB808. I also have a multipro 2000 i bought a long time ago for DTT. What in the way of dish/LNB/CAM/cards will i need? is there a link to tech info to get me upto speed? Thanx in advance

Most of the channels on Hispasat will turn black in a month or so, so you may want to consider a 1.1 mtere dish or better and suitable motor, that would give you a better chance of pulling in watchable TV. The 808 is not a bad little receiver, but there a lot better available for similar money and which may be more suitable for multisat reception.

With regard to CAMs and cards, you really need to have a good read in the Matrix reloaded, Magic Module and general CAM section, there is not clear direction on this, you pays yer money.........

When you say "turn black", does this mean it is going off the air or i will need a large dish to recieve signal.

No, I mean that they are changing encryption, so the present decryption methods will not work.
