Newbie on CAM

PACE 2600CI, EPG 3.2.11

Hi. I am new to these things and want a couple of questions answered please.

First I got a PACE 2600 and would like to know if a Dragon CAM can be used to encrypt Sky chanels. If it can, how do I go about doing this. Its EPG version is 3.2.1 - is that version sufficient. Thanks:confused:

I am not 100% clear on what your question is here, if you are asking can the Dragon cam decrypt sky channels without a Sky subscription card? then the answer is a definite 100% negative....... it is totally secure
 
Thank you. I do have a sky card but am not on subscription anymore and do get only FTA channels.
 
If you are only watching fta channels you dont need a cam - it wont do anything for you. A dragon (with the right firmware patch) can read deactivated sky cards to give you the ftv C4, C5, 5US 5Life and Sky 3, but you will still need a digibox to give the card its stay alive signals every month or so.
 
So that means I would not be able to see anything else other than the FTA channels. I already get CH4 & CH5 & Sky Three. Can the CAM allow me to see any subscrption channels from my digibox?
 
Not unless you subscribe to Sky. The Sky encryption is totally secure.
