Newbie ques on HD & Freeview Dreambox??

Hi All,

I am just about to venture into the world of dreamboxes after such a long time using technomates. Hence, I am not at all familiar with all the models out there. My specs would be as follows;

HD ready
Freeview tuner-able
CI slots
Smartcards slot
CS capabilities

Can any of the learned guys out here guide me to which dreambox model(s) would boast all these features?

The two HD models are DM800 and DM8000- not sure of the prices but something like £330 for 800 and a lot more for the 8000

thanks mate. much appreciated! i just had a look at both over the web. they both say plug and play tuner in the specs. does this mean i need to buy extra tuner cards for them in order to at least get freeview channel over here in the uk? a bit more enlightening will be much appreciated. thanks.
 
dm800 only has 1 tuner, dm8000 comes with 2 as standard and can be upgraded to 4 in total.

Dm800 is currently selling for about £400+ (unless you get a clone, which are going for about £280). dm8000 are going for about £900 iirc. dm800 has no ci slot, but apart from that, it should serve your needs.

you will get all channels available from freeview with the standard tuner without having to change anything. Just set up your dish (i.e. whether you have a motor, fixed dish, monoblock etc), and then scan the satellite (or install one of the downloadable channel lists), and away you go...
