Hi All,

I am going to implement my first satellite network, however I still don't know if the following config is workable:

Question :

  • Does DM800 support 16LNB by using 2 x 8x1 DiSEqC Switch?
  • Can I use 2 in 4 out splitter to give signal to 4 devices?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
Chris

No and No. For that you need 16 Quad LNBs (4 independent outputs), 4 x 16in1out switches and lots of cable, F-connectors and patience.

RimaNTSS,

Thanks for your reply.

if all the 16 LNB only connect to one device (e.g. DM800), can I use 2 x 8n1 DiSEqC Switch? If yes, how to join them together?

Regards,
Chris

I do not know if there is way how to connect 2 8/1 Diseqcs to DM800, most likely there are no such possibilities. I have heard about 12v switch, but not sure if dream can support that. Get new 1/16 Diseqc, that will solve your problem.

You can use 2x 8-port switches by putting an uncommitted switch to switch between the two. But it's easier to just have 1x 16-port switch.

I am not sure if it is possible to cascade 1/8 after 1/2 or 1/4 Diseqc. That is easy to do with Diseqc 1/10 programmed in Modus5, I use such a cascades.

If the 8 way switches are uncommitted diseqc 1.1, then it should be possible to cascade them with a standard diseqc 1.0 switch. Not had reason to try it though, but I think that the command order from the receiver would need to be set appropriately.
