Hi all,

I am based in Sheffield, UK and require a dish to receive channels on the Atlantic Bird 4A.

I was told 1.2m dish would be ok, but now I am told it needs to be much larger.

Can anyone please help me?

You are looking at a very large dish for any of the 7w cluster. A 1.8m should get you some/most of the vertical transponders. The horizontals are somewhat weaker, and you will be looking around the 3m mark to pull them in.

AB4 has a similar footprint to that of Nilesat 101/102 so at least a 2.4M plus as mentioned. Note also that Ab4 is at 7.2°W
Plenty info on the forum, take a look in this section :)

Forget AB4A. Even in SW Germany a Kathrein 2.20m barely can lock some frequencies time and weather dependent.
