My Satellite Setup
astra 28.2 but looking @ hotbird 13 and turksat
My Location
worcestershire
Hi all,

I'm new to the site. I'm a fitter for sky but a friend wanted a Hotbird set up so thought I'd join to learn some things. My meter is locked to astra 28.2 so had to improvise a bit with my 12volt sat box (cheep lidil suitcase sat) and a 12volt lcd car screen and a pair of headphones. Surprisingly it worked a trat and I've managed to tune in to a few different stas. It's a learning curve!!

SAts at 42east, 23.5east, 19east, 13east, 5east, 1west, 5west & 30west give nice strong signals over the UK.
Well done with your experimenting

Hi, if your going to be doing other satellites regularly, might be worth investing in a decent start-up meter such as the Satlook Micro. Meter has NIT search feature, ideal if you don't recognise the fingerprint trace of the satellite.

I'll look in to that . Just going to be a one off for hotbird but a friend of a friend has a moterized system that has been knocked out of alignment so may be trying to get that going . I have no idea of the make/model as it is something that I have never touched before!?!? no idea where to start !!
