I have been reading so much stuff my head hurts

Anyway, from what I think happens now is:

a) The MR.1161 files are firmware for my MR and that updating is to fix bugs and add/modify decryption for channels.

B) The MR.1161 (etc) files reaplace the UCAS / Dreamloader / etc files.

c) I should be able to update the firmware via my laptop's PCMCIA slot with some 'loader app'.

d) The hex keys are for unscrambling premium channels.

e) Hex keys are entered via the decoder's remote control in the MR's menu after converting them to decimal, or got from official cards when inserted in the cam.

I would be grateful if you could read and correct me as necessary.

i dont know about loading firmware through the laptop as i use fun cards but if you keep on top with the latest firmware you wont have to upgrade the keys i have had the reloaded cam since it came out and at the start i was constantly editing keys but now the firmware comes just as fast as the changes
 
newbie myself but you've got it pretty much right. I had some conflicting information on the PCMCIA programming bit. Could not make any of these programs work. Got me a cas 2 interface (Google it), which connects to ure pc via USB and to ure cam via a PCMCIA-like slot. Works like a charm.
 
Well I have now successfully updated my MR to 1161 vis PCMCIA :D

What am I supposed to be able to get now?
I'm currently pointing at astra 1b-2c (19.2E) cos my motor is non-functioning right now :(
 
hotbird is best at the moment m8 tps and multivisions all opening as well as some small packages so i sugest you get your motor working for maximum viewing
 
Well I'm now pointing at Hotbird (with cunning use of a spanner :( hehe) and so far I'm pleased :)
As you said tps and multivisions are on along with various others dotted around the channel list.
I must get my motor sorted.. :(
 
memran the motor should be a priorty especialy this time of year it's to cold to go out with spanners enjoy multivision and tps etc
