Newcs + Mbox

Hi Guys
Just a little clarification please. At the moment i have mbox set up and reading a clients card and every thing is ok.

but now i want to start using a card myself in my smargo card reader, i am trying to set up Newcs to do this.

1. can i use a smargo reader with newcs
2. If so what do i need to do in my newcs.xml file to do this?

any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Please note not using Cccam at the moment

Hi George, as mentioned have a good read that will get you going. Just one thing to bare in mind though, NewCS is released as a library of binaries and the standard one you install from your boxes addons panel does not support either PCSC or USB card readers. You will have to download the official NewCS release zip file and apply the binary with USB support. You'll find it using Google. I see you're using a DM800 so therefore the file you need is called 'newcs.mips.usb'. I recommend you use NewCS 1.67 RC1 as that's the latest and rumoured to be the last ever version.

Seem to be having trouble finding the information on how to manualy install Newcs 1.67 can some one help me out please , not sure where to install the downloaded tar.gz file and then how to activate it?
Also where can i find the file 'newcs.mips.usb' as mentioned by B16MCC .
