Whilst the NHS systems were the ones primarily under attack in the UK, the ransomware has apparently got into so many computers around the world, not all of them were/are running XP so I doubt this is a reason to junk them.
I thought the hospitals had been upgraded (at huge expense) by aUS company with three letters around a decade ago with the claims that this was going to be foolproof and a way of removing the need for paper backup........
Some news outlets and conspiracy sites are suggesting that despite the patching, there is a good chance a second wave to be launched early next week.
