Nice beavers

My neighbor having some problems with beavers, as they make dams and also crunch trees. Of course some of those trees falling on to the fence. So, neighbor, preventively cut some trees and offered to me to collect them. Therefore last several evenings I am busy working.

Very nice - especially since your heating relies on burning wood.
Incidentally - what saw are you using, and how often do you need to sharpen the chain?

I've got "Partner" saw. When chain is new, and you work carefully (do not cut into soil) it will work long time without sharpening. I would say, that chain without additional sharpening can cut up to 10m3 of wood, but, you never know.

I see. I've got a Stiga saw, which is made in China and probably like most of the others with a membrane carburator etc.
They key thing, I believe, is the chain sharpening. Some people use an electric tool, but I have been guided to use manual sharpening whenever possible, as this does not heat up the elements of the cutting chain.
I have bought a sharpening file which has an indicator bracket for using the right angle (30 deg). (Here's the English language again - right angle doens't equalt 30 degrees, I know I know. But it's not my language...)
Mine works fine, but I am still trying to find my way around the chain-jungle.

Maybe you can hire beavers to remove trees that prevent your obstructions to the the satellites you desire

A friend who stayed with me and cut down some of my trees a few years ago, wouldn't use a powered sharpener. He said that it overheated the chain cutting tips (I'd guess it affects the tempering) and removed too much material. I can't remember the files being over expensive and I've still got them..

There is another place I went cutting some wood couple of weeks ago.
TBH, I do not feel chain sharpened electrically works worse than one sharpened by file. I think it is matter of experience how to use electrical sharpener to not overheat the tips. But files are last century devices.... IMHO.

Finished with collecting wood from that ditch. From that wood I will be able to heat house ~3.5-4 winter months.
This aspen tree was actually cut down by teeth of beaver
