If you are receiving Nilesat Fta channels, just how many are you getting and have you altered your usals degree setting for these satellites?

Currently i have 412 but i've increased the 7.2 to 7.6E. Everything else on my satellite arc is cool but i get a peak offsetting the degrees somewhat on Nilesat,

It's quite a broad question and tricky to answer as there are three receivable satellites at that location. 7W has Nilesat 102, 7.3W has Atlantic Bird 7 and 8W has Eutelsat 8 West. A dish ponting at 7.3W will easily pull 8W and 7W - especially a smaller one with its wider beamwidth.

I have my dish pointing at 7W for maximum signal from Nilesat 102 as 7.3W is quite strong and doesn't need such a precise alignment.

Alright then, looks like ive sneaked some 8W onto the nilesat scan,i'll check it tomorrow. Thanks

Channels vary - try scanning at different times day: In the morning I pull in around 335 but early evening brings in 405.

Also, as advised in one of your other Threads, don't blind scan this one: Simply manually enter the current AB7 (Eurobird 7) TPs from Flysat (or other listing site) - this avoids the risk of pulling in 8W or 5W.

On the 1M Gibertini I pull in 587 channels. I can't remember if it's aligned to a transponder on Nilesat 102 or one on the newer Eutelsat 7. Both Gear One and FX are on 12226H, 27,500, FEC 3/4 DVB -S and I receive them during the day. However any rain or even heavy cloud cover leads to pixellation or loss of signal in the daytime.

On the 1.2M Laminas I'm up to about 980 channels. I haven't tried altering to 7.3°W as I get transmissions pretty well 24/7, unless it's raining quite heavily.

You should note I'm located considerably further South and as such it seems to make quite a bit of difference.

I see.I've got some stuff from 8W for sure, nothing from 5W. Looks like i'll need to go through the tps with a fine toothed comb and move adjustingly.

Unlike Sonnet and others further South and/or with bigger dishes, you stand little or no chance of getting any other 7W bird than Eutelsat 7 with that TD88, so that will cut down the number of TPs to manually enter. Then just use the Preset Scan.

I get s&d all on my 80cm but all of Eutelsat 7 on the TD110, albeit 100 miles Norther than thee.

Good stuff,i was going to sort them out today but the weather is just too nice to stay in at the moment plus croissants beckon..........

Croissants, in Leicestershire?

You haven't joined UKIP, have you .......................... ??

Prefer continental breakfasts Tivu,i can tolerate a fry up now and then but being of the larger frame i try to keep them down to once a fortnight!

Bugger, smoke alarm went off due to muppetry in the oven department. Operator set the oven on grill and the croissant have been destroyed. Not even red adair can save em.

Back to the bangers and beans, eh?

Thirty seconds or less in the Microwave does the job for our Croissants.

Yep,true normally do that if i have em in the week, just thought today i'd splash out and fire the oven up.

Bang on Sir, no nilesat102 or 201 just the West 7 beam.

Your wonderful Laminas is the equivalent to at least a 1.8m here.

382 logged today so thats alright then

Try early evening and you might get another twenty or so.

Nice result, though, on such a modest sized dish.

Todays scan was 452!!!!!

Yep, ditto after I selected Network as well as TP List Scan (must have missed a TP when manually entering!).

That's your 88cm pulling in as many as my perfectly aligned 1.1m: An excellent effort.
