Hi guys...having got a friend to buy a SKY FTV card and as I thought at the time had it activated I discovered he hadn't actually activated it so can anybody help with the following....I'm in Ireland by the way.

* If I was to do a callback update what way does this work...would SKY recognise the fact that it is an Irish number trying to activate a UK card? and if they recognised this what is the outcome as I have recently unsubscribed.Would the card be blocked?

* If my freind in the UK was to call up and have it activated would there be questions as to why it has taken so long to try and activate ( nearly 4 mths now)

* I have a second SKY box that I bought on e-bay UK..would this be better to try and do a call back on?
Any help as usual greatly appreciated

Do NOT try a call back from an Irish number.

Its possible he has activated it, but its will have missed stay alive authorisations. Leave the box on for 24 hours and see if it comes back to life.

I have left it cooking for almost a week at one stage..but no joy..why no call back from Ireland???
 
A UK card found to be outside the UK = the card is permanently deactivated.

Either Give the card number and box number etc to your friend and get him to ring sky, or use a uk roaming mobile to ring sky.

just do a manual call with your landline/mobile number on private setting (ie private number shows up at the other end). probably better off using the box u got off ebay as no questions will be asked as to where you are. have your mates address and box details ready before you make the call and dont mention ireland at all. let us know how you get on.

Another possibility has crossed my mind...I'm off to scotland for a hol soon..if I bring my card with me is it possible to activate from another mates box by callback and will it affect his subscription if the box can be activated there??

would be no problem activating from scotland, but might affect your mates box. bring your ebay box with you then you will have no probs.
