non subscription recording

My Satellite Setup
4 systems. In Scotland Freesat with Humax Foxsat recorder. In Algarve 1.5 fixed Inv Quad LNB with 3 Pace 2600C1 and 1 Amstrad HD DRX780UK also 80cm dish with Inverto 0.2db monoblock LNB (19.2E/26E) feeding Technomate 5000CI+ usb.

Once upon a time we could only get a freesat card by ordering up a soft mature content card and then cancelling. Does anyone know if this is still possible and whether or not the recording facilities will be opened on a Sky+ box ?

FreesatFromSky (FSFS) cards can be ordered direct from Sky and posted direct to a UK address. Sky+ recording/live pause etc facilities are only available by paying a minimum £10.25 per month subscription (and have always been only available on subscription) but this option may only now be available to those cancelling down from higher subscriptions. If you want subscription free recording from an EPG then you will need a freesat+ PVR but that will be not able to receive the FTV channels that a FSFS card will get you.

An Enigma II receiver will read the Sky card and record subscription and non-subscription channels direct from the 7 day EPG. And you can replay the recordings without any need for a card to be present.
 
I am aware that a FSFS card will not let you make recordings on a Sky+ box. What I am wondering is will a card from a soft mature content channel give us recording facilities on a sky+ box. If so I can order one, activate it, pay 1 month then cancel it, put it in a drawer for 6 months then I would have a card that would perhaps allow recording facilities
