A rare chance to have a look at KCTV from North Korea currently on 10E.

The output is dull as ditchwater - loads of patriotic music & images etc, but its amusing to see.

Ive been after this one for YEARS!

Very strong, an easy catch even on my hastily realigned 10E dish that moved in the gales last week.

Ah I am pleased for you, can remember you wishing it would pop up on Hot Bird, 10e is a fun location, lets hope APTN going encrypted doesn't spoil it.
 
KCTV should be around for a few days at least - KJI's funeral is the 28th.

Ive managed to catch about half an hour in the morning before going to work, now Ive knocked off for the holiday Im hoping I might get to see a bit more - even if its just running in the corner of my monitor so I can keep half an eye on it. :D

Last night I was having a chuckle at last years world cup fantasy football thread. I played as "North Korea" basically so I could insult all the capitalist warmonger dogs playing as the other countries

And I had great fun :-rofl2
 
Probably be an HD feed for his funeral, the last big military parade was available in HD in parts of the world.

I noted them closing down at around 5pm uk time.

Wed is KJI's funeral so it'll be a good chance to see them again.
 
Dont speak a word of Korean but the tone of the announcer is highly amusing. KJI's visits to factories are talked about with great excitement.

Her we have KJI being shown the latest 2012 model desktop computer from Pyongyang computer factory #9 ;)

I believe its also going to be covered on Arirang from 0100 but I am not 100% sure they do list a Arirang news special.
 
Its absolutely fascinating coverage.

The factories that KJU was shown visiting earlier look like something out of a Carry On movie from the mid 1960's.

And now the scenes from the room where KJIs body is lying in state are totally over the top.
 
The visit and looks at things are a staple of North Korean TV.

I'm just waiting for bond to arrive, but on a serious note that is the most bizarre thing I've ever seen on tele they seem so genuinely upset even the blokes it madness.
 
A fter a re-run of the "highlights" of the wailing & mass hysteria around the coffin we now have some clips of the Dear Leader KJI visiting factories, concerts, a sewage works (!!!???) agricultural places etc etc.

It really is the strangest thing to see - the propaganda reminds me of the Radio Moscow English Service in the early 1980's where all the news broadcasts were full of the wheat harvests & tractor factory outputs!

NK still transmitting on 10E if anyone wants a look. Its long after their normal closedown time.
 
Great to view somewhere so rarely seen. Also reminds me of the old radio Moscow and other eastern block s/w stations.
