Just been crawling around in my parents' attic looking for the 2-way DiSEqC switch and stumbled upon my old Pace MSS100 I used in the old days. Also found boxed is a Philips BDE353 (aka FilmNet) D2MAC decoder. Shame the decoder is no use any more - even though being kept in a box, it looks brand new. But I will try out the Pace tomorrow while I can! Lost the remote but I think it's still tuned in to old Astra frequencies...

Ive just taken 3 old analogue boxes up the tip that I found in a cupboard at work. A Pace Prima and two Grundigs. You cant give them away now.

You found a tip in a cupboard at work?

What did Elf & Safety have to say about that?

Is Canal+ France on 5W the only encrypted analogue transmission in the skies at the moment?

Yes - the second last encrypted service went years ago

Ahh, OK. Need to invest in some cheapo video capture card to record analogue showdown. Love the analogue scrambling systems....

Hmm the cheap and nasty Luxcrypt springs to mind. Or RAI's Discrete line shuffling maybe....

Speaking of.... what do you broadcasters do with their old equipment? Wouldn't mind getting hold of, say a MAC encoder, so I can at least play with my decoder box :) Maybe some circuit diagrams lying around somewhere so we can build one?

Luxcrypt was horrible - my least favourite scrambling "system".

In other news, I turned my parents' attic upside down but could not find a remote for the Pace. Does anyone have one lying around in a cupboard tip somewhere and willing to donate it? :)

Oh heck - if you had asked two days ago you could have had the one that went with the Prima from work that went into the recycling bin up the tip!

Damnit. Well, I connected it up and it's working fine on the channels it's tuned in to :D But without the remote, I can't do much more. I'll see if I can get my amp's "universality" working with it.
