My Satellite Setup
1.2 meter dish
technomate box

I can move the dish manually if I
want to change sat
But since the change over to digi
I find it difficult to find satellites
(must be the digi delay )
My Location
N England
Looks like my technomate tm 7755 2va 2cl was not my friend
for life after all.
It went dead last saturday ... no lights , no sign of life
just cold metal !
Ive had it for prob 5 years......... I expected more than this

5 years isn't bad, and besides, you can still have it for life, it just won't be very active unless you get it fixed.

I think my big 1.25 dish is on 19e (astra 1 )
ANY advice as to what I should get to replace my technomate ?

Never been a fan of Technomate, seem's to be an urban myth that if your into Satellite T.V. in a big way you MUST like Technomate, well I'm into satellite tele in a big way & I dont like em now nor ever have. If its just a free to air receiver your after, how about a cheap & cheerful Comag job, I've had a Comag SL65 (Silvercrest branded!) from Lidel for about 5 years & it only cost £40, I bet you payed double that for the Technomate!

the reply to thread button does nt seem to work
so Ive come into the quick reply

thanks for the tip... is that lidel the supermarket ?

If I had half a brain Id figure out how to put a bar on my 1.25 dish and switch between 2 or 3 sats

I think Im on asta 1 at 19e but there must be other good positions... like hotbird that I could get
( it would prob need wiring another wire into house to control the switch )

With a dish of your size & in your location you can get Hotbird easy aswell as the weaker sats such 9e no prob's, I would suggest leaving your dish parked on 19e and investing in a multi LNB bracket, but chances are the make of dish you have dosnt have "Matched" multi bracket, but there are a few non-brand specific one's out there that will fit onto any standard offset dish. Yes Lidle is a supermarket just like Aldi, but they have things like sat receivers in at least once a year on offer & when its gone its gone. Additional cabling would be needed from the added LNB's into a Diseq switch, then from that it would still be one single downlead.
