Arte atelier and Art Invest are two examples of lots of empty Italian channels. Great mystery for me as to why are there all these empty Italian channels carrying bawdy ads,in 20 identical versions with different names,when legitimate channels can t afford a Hotbird channel!!Often called Italia something or Napoli... all carry same low-def prehistorical ads...
They ve been there ever since digital TV came.
there must be at least 100 of these on Hotbird. For me 1 of the great mysteries of Hotbird.
 
As long as they pay for the capacity, nobody cares what is broadcast there

but,who is rich (and lazy) enough to waste such capacity?
 
if I could afford a hotbird channel... i d try to lease it to someone who would start a real chnnel... or is it a NATO reserve just in case?
 
There is enough capacity on 13E, but there is no longer interest in paying for it, so some transponders are switched off, some are used for DATA, some for sporadic FEEDS

yes is that what these Italian empty boxes are used for?
 
it 'd be cheaper to just turn them off.... or?
keep one with an ad "Channels for rent" and a price????
 
There are still a lot of people who, by using channel shopping, pay the company's costs.

Or,even better,11662V27500. Do you think anyone watches that?

Yes... i would understand 3 or 5 of these,like the German QVC which are "real" shopping channels . 5,not 100. And not running same stuff 20+times!

I think you are being very optimistic in thinking that Arte Atelier and Arte Investimenti are empty. It is much worse: they are filled with teleshopping. Which raises the question: who watches that?

"Empty" means empty, not 'non watchable stuff'. If you want to see, how really empty channels look like, try 19E German Sky dot-channels. These are named as . and there are no video nor audio.

yes indeed my vision of emptiness in this casewas that of theirviewers,rather. and the waste of technology for so little
