Not really.

When I investigated workplace incidents involving destruction of property, injuries or death, it was de rigeur to tell the Media it'd would be at least a fortnight before things would become clear, even though often the cause was already self-evident and we just needed breathing space to formalise the evidence.

In this instance, it wouldn't be a surprise at all if the cause is already known.
