My Satellite Setup
60cm dish Nova box and card
My Location
Hastings
Trying to set up Nova TV box in the UK - found 'a' satellite, 64% strength, 90+% quality. Got a massive list of channels but all except FTA are showing scrambled - do I have the correct satellite? I'm aiming at 13E Hotbird
 
Welcome to the forum :)

You should have a lot of Italian channels i8n your fta list, if you post the names of a few of the channels you can see than we can identify where you are pointing.

Hi

Which Nova tv box do you own? You should have either a Nova Pace 831 HD or a Nova Pace 865 HD PVR box, paired with the Nova smartcard. Older boxes don't work now...

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. There are a load of Nova channels all showing as scrambled in the tv guide. Does this mean I have the correct satellite and a different issue, or will these show anyway if I have the wrong satellite??
 
Ignore anything that is scrambled, and identify some of the actual channels you can see the logos for. 3 or 4 will do.

We are working blind here so have to first identify exactly which satellite you have aligned onto. Its all too easy to get the dish set up on the adjacent satellite along the arc - we have all done it at some point I assure you!
 
We have boyah, news channels but not cnn, tv5, RAI|, fashion 1, world fashion, france 24, russia today, al jazeera, dw europe, arirang world, rt doc, jeem+,
 
That's Hotbird.
 
Good - Boyah is The Greek Parliamentary channel and transmits on Hotbird.

So we know the dish is correctly aligned.

Now we need to find out why your box isnt working

Has the card been activated?

Is the card in upside down?
 
the card is in according to instructions. As far as we know the card has been activated
 
Hmm.

Make sure the card is pushed fully home -DONT push too hard!

All I can suggest now is that you contact your supplier & ask them to get a fresh activation signal sent out.
 
Still not sorted, had the activation re-sent still showing scrambled on all nova channels - not sure what to do now other than get someone in to check all out...
 
If you are getting good signal, and it seems like you are, I don't think there's much anyone, except Nova, can do here...
