My Satellite Setup
Sky plus V3 and a 50 inch plasma screen.
My Location
Cairo, Egypt
I am in London at the moment and I mannaged to buy a new Sky+ V2 box. Should I plug it into my friends dish to down load the latest software before I take it home. My card is still in Cairo so will I be able to do it with out the card?

Just plugged in my new box and I have

Operating 1.28.d
EPG Sky +1.31A08.

My friend has

1.31 AOE
EPG sky + 1.30.q
Should I just leave my box plugged in or do I need to force an upgrade and can I do it with out a card.
 
The latest Sky+ software is reported to be buggy and cause problems. Id advise to stay on the old s/w as long as you can!
 
1.31A0E is what I have and doesn't seem to bad, i think it was the version before which was really bad. :)
 
O.K, I forced a download and took the risk, every thing is up to date now but I noticed thet the box is running hot and I can't see a fan in the back like my friends. Is this going to be a problem considering this box is going to live in Egypt.
 
AND,,,, I have a USB port on the back of the box. ,,,,, why?
 
On a V2???

Could be, I dunno, just got it and didn't know there was sutch a thing as a 3G
