My Satellite Setup
Master Focus 90cm .Gigablue UHD Quad 4K on TM 2600 motor. *Tm 5402 HD M3, *Atemio Nemesis. *Not Used.
My Location
Southern England
I was asked if the satellite system could be watched and controlled from the other 2 TV's in the house. At present the TM 6800 (changing soon) is in my den with all the routers and internet connections. The 2 TV's both have pc inputs and if I remember correctly a Dreambox could be controlled from the TV. The LNB is a twin so in therory 2 sepearte channels from the same satellite could be watched. I did read somewhere about a D Link so what do others think.

install another dish for 28e for the other half and keep the motorised for your den ?

Now that is a great idea but when she goes back to work the techies there may tell her different and I may get a "no"

Not so easy. One likes loads of French channels as she can speak French, the other will be wanting tennis wherever it comes from, never mind the language.

Whose system is it? - yours or the techies at her work.

remember the golder rule - KISS. :D

My oh my, I bet you have a great time, amazed you find time to play with your dishes.

A motorised system can only be controlled by one receiver at a time, so one box would be the master and decide where the dish is pointing, and the second receiver would be able to access whatever satellite the dish is pointing at but not have any control over which satellite that might be.

If you want multiple receivers to act as masters on all satellites you are going to need fixed LNBs on each satellite.

The idea was that the dish would be set on one satellite but the channels chosen by each TV could be seperate. I thought a D Link could transmit from the sat box to each TV and be controlled from that TV.

you might have been best to run a feed from the dish to the other tvs but then they would have to watch whatever satellite the dish is pointing at and you be able to move the dish only from your den though

any room for a small dish for the french channels 5w or 13/19e and you have your motorised dish to play with in the den ?

If you want them all FTA you need to add 9ºE. I think the only French PSB channel I don't have FTA is France 4. Pretty handy because it means not having to use a TNT card or dedicated receiver.
