So yet another new sat receiver which decodes and display 4k channels but what really also interests me is that this one also decodes multi streams so would like to know which ones it will decode compared to the Openbox SX6 which is limted to only decoding a very few of them...

Compared to SX6, an E2 enabled tuner can do all types of MIS, including gold, root etc. It all depends on the tuner used, E2 now has support for decoding if the drivers allow it. SF4008 is one of the first boxes that supports MIS with the internal tuner along with DVB-S2X, Gigablue will follow soon, and I heard that DM900 could follow with another pluggable tuner.

I have ordered one but will arrive early February as there is a shortage at the moment. I will have to be patient. I will let those interested know how I get on with it when it comes.

Where did you order from btw ? I see the test on 45 east for MIS channels but signals are zero with me

I read that it can't open the MIS stream on Hispasat and 5west :( So not a box which can decode all multi streams....yet anyway, so puts me off a bit

Couldn't find a UK source so I ordered it from a German company. Not sure if I am allowed to name it on this site.
 
Red Apple Digital in the UK have it.

In the circumstances, there's no reason why you shouldn't.

A box that reliably opens multistream is at the top of my shopping list too.

Why so much panic my friend? It's a new receiver and the MIS driver is still on beta stage! The manufacturer never mentioned that this is not something to be fixed! I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue.

Did you mention it was ARM operating system, if so @Adam792 maybe be able to develop some goodies for this in the future.
 
To be fair ARM is kind of a worry, since all closed-source plugins are only available for MIPSEL, but it was Broadcom's decision to move to a new architecture with its latest SOCs, so manufacturers had no choice but to follow. And in all honesty the world of Enigma was supposed to be everything open source. Coders and developers will have to comply if they want to keep up anyway, the problem is that most users don't use the STBs for what they should stand for...
So @Adam792 is there something blademedia knows and is not telling us? lol :)

Might be possible by recording to internal hard disk (optional) and then playing. Maybe one of our Linux experts can answer this one!
 
The only way an Enigma2 box will play 4:2:2 on the fly is hardware acceleration which means the codec has to be natively supported in the chipset! No STB at the moment has a CPU powerful enough to utilise software decoding like a PC! I hope that in the not so far future cpus are capable of this! We'll have to wait and see if they can transcode 4:2:2 that might be possible!
