Mmmmmm!

DVI, SCART, SVIDEO & Component.
This could be interesting.

Plus 'enabled for WiFi'? What's that all about.

yep, saves me using wireless ethernet bridge when connecting up to internet, i just use the wifi antenna's.

Looks real good, but no HDMI in the end, they put it off for long enough, so just DVI and audio and then convert to HDMI.

So it should be good, i'll look forward to the pricing, which should be the next thing released along with the release date

one thing i am unsure of is the dvd, is it a player or recorder, i think its a recorder but not sure if it plays aswell, it should do and from what i heard is it will play or record all formats. If that had been a HD or Blu-ray recorder then i would have everything crossed off on my list lol.

Now we cannot have everything can we now.....i want it!!!!!

Looks completely unprofessional when an advertising professional does not proof read their advert, I wonder if they know the difference between DVB Compliant or as their advert says DVB complaint :-rofl2:-rofl2

yeah but you have to remember they are german not english lol.

And i know you will be able to add in hard drives etc., and i think on the 8000 PVr i heard you can use your own DVD i think, does that mean you will be able to insert your own blu ray or HD dvd burner inside do you recon?

Judging from the picture, the new box is so big that some bloke can sit on it. Still German engineering is solid, so his weight doesn't seem to do any damage...

The boxes aren't German made, they are all made in China, it if had been Made In Germany they wouldn't have looked so cheap and plastic on the picture above.

I don't mind things looking cheap so much as long as they ARE cheap. If Dream manage to sell a cheaply made STB at 700 euros, they're on to a winner.

i heard that in holland rumored pre ordered pricing for the DM 800 are around 389 euros, if you think about it, that is quite cheap. It's about £250 but still over the top for me.

not sure how true this is, will have to wait and see but release date much be coming soon.

The 800 just almost the same as my 600. I personally think the 600 is a very good looking box.

It is a shame they couldn't license it, and therefore lost the HDMI interface. This box as I've read it, could potentially have 4 tuners in it, however ,there's still no mention of outputting different signals on different outputs. So from 4 tuners, you can only have 1 output. (Apart from streaming ofcourse).

I'd like it to replace both my DM7025's but it may not be up to the job. Only time will tell.

I thought it was a bird sitting on top of each box...maybe that's why they are so expensive...

Thanks Sharkadder. Just what I needed.
They are using chipset BCM7401 made by Broadcom, a leader in the satellite IC design. See attached technical brief.
This company has only technical briefs in their website and if you want more information then you have to be an OEM with huge order commitments before they speak with you.
The tuner is made by Alps.
I was afraid that they might be using a cheaper chipset, but now I am willing to consider buying the bigger model.

Edit: The inside looks very crowded. There will be heat transfer problems. Is there a hidden fan inside?
