Coincidentally it is more than 100 year old vehicles (Pre 1915 ) 'compete' in the Pioneer run (London to Brighton) that starts not far from here.
Two and three wheeled machinery is allowed. This year is the 80th year of the event.
Twas a bit nippy at the start last year.
Younger vehicles have their own class, 'vintage '.

Pioneer run (80) on this Sunday, starting at Tadworth Corner, around 8am. New route to avoid major intersections.
The 2019 Pioneer Run® will be started at 08.00 hrs from Tattenham Corner, Epsom Downs by the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell. The 49.7 mile revised route then follows the A217 through Reigate to join the A23 at Gatwick, diverting via Handcross and Lower Beeding to join the A281 through Cowfold, and Henfield, then on to the A2037 through Small Dole and Upper Beeding and on to the A283 to Shoreham, where left on the Coast Road to Brighton and Madeira Drive. Arrivals will be expected at Madeira Drive from 10.00 hrs onwards.
