Old dish but universal LNB does not fit

Hi,

I have an old Sky dish (20+ years old) that was previously recv. freesat for me but a while back it stop so I looked and the lnb and I was getting no signal and it looked worse for wear so I ordered a new quad universal geosync lnb only to find out that the shaft that it fits on is the same size as the mounting bracket of the lnb, the old lnb slotted in the dish shaft whereas this one looks like it should fit over the shaft .... any advice on what lnb I should be buying to fit my old sky dish?

The dish pix shows the shaft (with the old lnb removed and the coxials poke in the end), the lnb pixs shows the new one on the left and the old on the right, the old one slots into the dish shaft but the new one cannot and looks like it would fit over the shaft but in my case the lnb bracket is too narrow to fit over the shaft.
I though I could use the old lnb bracket but #a the new lnb was a slightly wider diameter and #b it broke when I tried to make it fit

You need a Sky mk2 LNB bracket designed for a 40mm LNB, it is likely your original LNB was 38mm. Unfortunately these adapters aren't that common these days, all the ones I see on eBay are for 38mm LNB. How many outputs do you need? I found a couple of LNBs that should fit but are single output.

All of those are for mk4 dishes and are similar to what you already have.

Is your dish pole mounted or is it on a flat horizontal arm? If the latter just about any new zone1 Sky dish should work though it will need realigning.

I saw that but where it says it doesn't fit Labgear or Geosync LNBs makes me think it it doesn't have a 40mm collar - I have a Labgear branded VK4L (came with mk4 holder) and it's definitely 40mm. The LNB in post #3 also looks like it might be a Geosync.

Yes, but as far as we know he has a Geosync and that should fit, although I can see now that it says it doesn't fit. Have to say that I've used a lot of them and still have a few in the van and they've alwasy fitted the LNB from the mark 4 holder.

you might as well get a replacement dish from facebook marketplace, people throw them out, might get one for free, and local.

Yes, I saw the MK4>MK3 bracket in ebay but it does say not compatible with geosync which I have, so that put me off ... I have now sent back the lnb and order a new mk4 zone1 dish with quad lnb ... will try and fit myself over the weekend.
