Hi All
New here, first post, and VERY thick about all this, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I currently have sky freebies with the white card - it's set up on an old analogue dish (90cm round mesh) with new lnb. The guy told me it would probably be better on this than on the new dish he would be fitting (70X60 oval type) - I think he was running late and didn't want the hassle of fitting it!
He did however, leave the whole kit with me so I have this in the garage.

What I would like to do is fit this new dish and feed my existing box from it, and then fit a motor on the old dish for a new receiver.I'm only interested in FTA channels so could someone please advise if this is do-able and what motors and basic receivers should I be looking at.

Well all you'll need is a decent pole mount (needs to be plumb), a DiseqC motor and basic digital receiver, you should be able to get all of these from one of our forum supporting advertisers. I'm assuming your dish has a vertical pole mount and not one of the horizontal types.
 
Thanks for the reply Rolf - yes it is vertically mounted.
Would you have any recommendations both for motor and receiver?
I was a bit worried that the dish in question would be too heavy as from what I can see it is steel and not alloy.
 
No, a 90cm steel dish should be fine. There are quite a few good DiSEqC motors on the market, I normally use either Moteck, or Technomate motors, which have proved to be reliable. Receiver wise there are so many that it is difficult to recommend one in particular and I haven't really used that many of them.
 
OK - thanks for your quick replies. It will probably be a few weeks before I get round to it so I'll try to do some digging.
