Still about but only firing on one cylinder at the moment. Sadly Flossie as shown in my avatar had to be put to sleep last week. Poor old girl was in pain most of the time and medication no longer helped. The ladies are very upset as expected, I am but always manage to hide it. Always had a dog but now to old to cope with another. Been having to sit down for a good rest after being up and about for 2 hours. Docs, lots of test, scans as await the results. The NHS is still good despite all its faults. Half way through doing the 1.8 for C band and its slow going at the moment, plus the added fact I keep getting told the doctor told you to rest...... Will be moving on the 1.2 CM I got as in all reality I am never going to get it set up. I have loads to do to the house outside whilst the summer is here and the Overseer is finding it too much.
 
I wondered, then somehow guessed why you were absent for a while. Lovely companion she was.

Take a short break, deal with the family matters first, then recharge and get the dish running.
 
Sorry to hear about Flossy. Hope some of the outside jobs get done.

The dish can wait, your health and family need you more.
 
TJ I'm so sorry to hear about Flossie, please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss.

I do hope you are okay and please don't go over doing anything, enjoy this lovely weather and relax :)
 
You have my sympathy - we had to have one of our cats put to sleep last year and the other one a few months ago. I'm also "slowing down" rather quicker than I had hoped and so things" just don't get done as quickly as they used to. 2 dicky knees" and lot's of family, U3A and "computer" problems (2 weeks ago, I got a "Help" email from my somewhat "emotionally challenged" stepdaughter when her laptop went belly up, and I've be struggling to sort out a new one for her - lot's of emotionally-charged exchanges of text messages and telecons :() don't help either.
 
Sorry to hear about your old friend Flossie, TJ.

Keeping yourself active with respect to your age is paramount. Know your limits. Having said that, I have surprised myself over the last week or two with what I have been able to do, considering my rapidly increasing years - I've been laying some heavy paving slabs in the front garden, after removing old overgrown shrubs, roots and all.
Even though I have knee and back problems, strangely I've never felt better, the exercise has given me a second wind :)

To do - lay a tonne of shingle or chippings :D
 
Losing a friend and a member of your family like Flossie must be hard for you, although I was brought up with dogs, I have never had a dog myself as my wife has always had a fear of them from a bad experience as a child, although whenever I meet a dog they instantly know I am a dog lover and one or two actively seek me out, I must send out sub-conscious signals. Try to distract yourself and focus on other things
