Opinion on antivirus software on linux pcs

If you have a pc like mine which is solely running fedora and firefox for browsing on a router what are your opinions on running some sort of Antivirus software,is it necessary? Are you running anything, av wise, or malware or firewall wise?
 
Shouldn't be necessary at all!

The recommended one is Clam, though, if you really want to try it.

It can be a good idea to have Clam installed in Linux if you are dual-booting with Windoze, as you can use it from Linux to scan your Windows Partition: Very handy if you're Windows is fooked.
 
No windows on this dell Tivu,just solely for linux. It used to have windows XP on it but it had been trashed so i removed it this morning.

Anyway, as I said, not necessary, but ClamAV is out there in Repositories if you want to try it.
 
If i rememebr Bit Defender used to do a free Linux Antivirus. It was excellent on Microshaft Windows so i would imagine its the same on Linux.

I have AVG on my Windows Vista partition, no av on the Linux Mint partition.
I just re-vamped an old XP laptop with Mint 12 (wiped XP) for my mum to learn how to use a computer. No av on it either.
