Anyone remember this - its an old radio show from 1971-2 ish. Starring Arthur Lowe, Ian Lavender & Kenneth Conner. Its all about a sleepy railway station somewhere north of London (Lowe being the somewhat pompous station manager of course)

Ive recently discovered it and its had me creased up - its one of the series that had most of its episodes wiped, but thanks to the wonders of the internet almost all of them have been retrieved. Ive d/l'd them burned them to cd & had them on in the car whilst we were out and about today :D

Typical gentle British humour from a long lost age.

I vaguely remember the show.

if you want to listen again.

Thanks, will have a listen later.:)

If you are interested in old tv & radio shows the missing episodes forum is worth a look, although its depressing just how much stuff has been deleted over the years

Its a good day when they announce a new find tho!

Unfortunately the archive sites don't have any links to the one show I used to listen to as a spotty oik.

Just two links to episode sections, nothing more, plus some info on Radio4 Extra. Maybe it will return to BBC7 at some point.

Yay, found a *ahem* torrent ysterday and now have the complete series (1.1GB) which means the ten or so cassette tapes I had can finally be recycled.

Ive got most of the way through Parsley Sidings now whilst pottering around the area in the car, and it really is rather good.

On a related note ...
Still a few episodes wiped and missing from that much loved favourite ..
Dads Army ..
If only they would turn up and complete the set ...
A few did over the years ...but many gaps particularly in the 2nd and third series ..still exist ..
I'd hate to think these were still in someones attic degrading as I type this..
It just shows the somewhat blinkered attitude to archiving...of Auntie ..back in the day..

They simply don't like it 'up 'em'...
cest la vie

Dads Army has 3 missing eps - all from series 2.

So if anyone has

Loneliness of the long distance Walker
A stripe for Frazer
Under fire

in their attics please let us know :D
