Passion + channel list update- method?

Hello all
I am attempting to
update my channel list with the available zip file on this forum.

The advice :“Extract
the .dnl file from the zip, place on the stick, plug it into your
Passion and do a channel list software update.” Not so simple! I
cant import the dnl file!

The Channel Edit /
S/W Transfer / Channel Data Transfer just exports my existing
list to my memory stick, I cant point my Factory Settings /
Channel Recovery to the new dnl file in my mem stick. So do tell me where
exactly is this “channel list software update path on the Passion
+?
 
Hi mrcook, welcome to the forum.

When in the Software Transfer mode, be sure you have selected the right option - sending files from your stick rather than to it (USB Read rather than Write).
 
Thanks for your swift response, On S/W Transfer / Channel Data Transfer I can't see a read / write option. Where is this setting?
 
When you click on the USB tab, it brings up an extra option for USB transfer. Right click for USB Read.
 
Ahh.. great, works a
treat. I just couldn't handle another clue!

Another question: While
doing a factory reset earlier I came across a choice of FTA or Fortec
HD.
What is the difference?
And now if I wish to find
Controversial TV, will I pollute your fine list when I scan 28.2?

FTA puts the box into Freesat mode and its ability to use the Freesat 7-day EPG stream.

You're welcome to add to the list whatever your tastes dictate - it's a free country (so they say) :-rofl2
 
And a populated EPG ! (nice side effect)
So now I can put away my bible, prayer mats and credit card. Thanks for solving my first post.
