hi newbie here looking for a little help is their any way i can have my fathers dreamb*x dm500 box update my entitlements on my s*y card with mgcamd as my server runs newcs + cccam 2.1.4 and omnikey reader, im giving my self updates just now but i dont know how to let my fathers box give me the updates,any help would be great.
 
This is a popular topic over the last few months. When hosting the card in NewCS , CCcam will not update the card. Simply connect to the NewCS server using a standard MGCamd setup and it will update the card. Read my tutorial on using the Scy UK card in the Dreambox.
 
yes iam doing that just now from my internal lan connction and i recieved 1 emm and every entitlement is being updated with that 1 emm what iam trying to do is have my fathers box from another house to give me the updates,i just dont know how to connect to my server from my dads box with mgcamd or do i have to add an N:line to newcamd.list.
 
You're not using N lines mate, as CCcam will not update the card.

For every user you want to connect to NewCS you must make a user name for them in the NewCS web interface.
So you'll have one for your box, and one for your dads box.
You'll be running NewCS & MGCamd
Your dad will be running MGCamd only.

You need to add a CWS line to the newcamd.list in your dads box so it can connect to the NewCS server in your box.

As i said, please read the existing threads on this subject rather than us going over old ground all over again in a new thread.
 
i have read the existing threads but cant find anything im looking for,i have a ubuntu server and i can connect from my own box with mgcamd to newcs reading the card with internal ip address but when i use my dynds address i cant connect am i doing something wrong,cws= myserverinternalipaddress, newcsport, user, pass, deskey.i put the relevet info into my newcamd.list and connect from my own box but when i change myserverinternalipaddress, ip address to mydyndsaddress i cant connect.your help is greatfull.
 
OK well, the first question is obviously, have you tested your dyndns address in some other way ?
Secondly , in your router, have you forwarded the port your serving the card on to the lan ip address of your ubuntu server ?
