hi, i have a "SKYLINE HD SATELLITE BOX(PART NO. 28260R " also known as philex hd box,it will only scan to 45 per cent, no sky news or cnn, any idea's?

Which satellite are you pointing to or hoping to receive? There is no Saorsat transmission yet so I'll move your post to the best area when we know.

What size dish do you have? Is it still the standard $ly dish shown in your profile? Is it still pointing to the original position? What satellite/position have you set the receiver to scan for?
 
normal sized sky dish, in the same position for the last ten years, i'm just looking for all free-to-air stations, the box scans 222 tv stations mostly ads and 69 radio , but no sky news or cnn,,, ta
 
Check LNB settings ............... Ensure you've got Universal (or Universal 1, Universal 9750/10600) selected.
