Hi everybody, I have spent a lot of time on this. The Philips TV is incompatible with people who want to watch satellite in multiple languages, and from multiple sources. I imagine this is a problem across the whole Philips TV range. After searching it is a problem introduces by all TV manufactures (LG, Philips, Sony etc). **Set-up:** *DVB-S diseqc switch*: 1: 13e 2: 19.2e: 3: 5w 4: 28.2e. *DVB-T* : Belgian DVB-T(2) channels (In Belgium RTBF is FTA, Flemish channels are encrypted) A *Re-install TV* is done for each of these set-ups; **Set TV region to UK**: DVB-S scan UK region. result: displays only channels on diseqc position 1 : 13e. Everything else is ignored. DVB-T scan UK region: only encrypted channels appear. No FTA. **Set TV region to BE**: DVB-S scan BE region. result: displays only channels on diseqc position 1 : 13e. Everything else is ignored. DVB-T scan BE region: Both FTA and encrypted channels appear. **Set TV region to DE**: DVB-S scan DE region. result: all satellites are found on the switch: 1: 13e 2: 19.2e: 3: 5w 4: 28.2e. DVB-T scan DE region: only encrypted channels appear. No FTA. **Set TV region to DE**: DVB-S scan DE region. result: all satellites are found on the switch: 1: 13e 2: 19.2e: 3: 5w 4: 28.2e. DVB-T scan BE region: Both FTA and encrypted channels appear, **but**, because the country is changed it removes all DVB-S channels except diseqc position 2: 19.2e! To get all diseqc positions read the TV region must be set to DE. To get all Belgian DVB-T FTA channels (RTBF) the TV region must be set to BE. Changing a TV region for DVB-T will change it for DVB-S. And here is the rub: if I remove the diseqc, and only use one satellite e.g 28.2e, and set the region to BE, then get the Belgian DVB-T FTA channels, and all the channels available on 28.2e. Similar case for each individual beam. I did some googling and seems this is the case for all TVs from all TV manufacturers, because people complain of the same thing. So, I might have to buy another box with DVB-T+DVB-S if I want to get the channels. And these boxes cost as much as a television set. And it is possible that any other box ( e.g Dreambox, etc) will have the same problems. And I don't want too many remote controls :-) This piss poor implementation is a terrible joke. I'm now a bit lost with what to do. Will a Dreambox Ultra DM920 get around the problems I have? Such as : DVB-S get everything from my switches . DVB-T get Belgian FTA transmissions. Looks like I cannot ever get FranSat, because they have blocked all their cards on non-authorised devices. This will also include a CI+ module on my Philips TV, and of course a FranSat CI module put into a Dreambox etc., I imagine this is because my TV does not have HBB thingamijig on it, and I wonder if they use this to block FranSat reception based on IP address: My TV does not have network capabilities. Back to multistream.
