This is an old CD player but it still sounds good and who buys new CD players these days? It's built 'upside down' - the CD sits on a platter label side downwith the motor and label above. I've lifted the motor assembly and it doesn't make the noise when it drives, nor does the platter when it is spun, but put it all together and it makes a noise like a slipping belt. Any ideas?
Thanks

There's four different European variants, the part number starting with WE* or WB*

Anyhow, this should get you started

Thanks for that. It's somewhere to start. I can't find any numbers like those. The CD assembly has what looks like WVE written in felt pen on top but can't see anything else

Not yet. I get very busy at work at this time of year so haven't had the time to investigate properly. Reading the manual it seems that the disk clamp exerts a pressure of 9kg which I guess could make a dry bearing squeak, so that is where I think I'll look first
