I was wondering are channel master sat dishes really that expensive (about 1267 BP 1.5M ,2283 BP 2.4M !)?
IF TRUE why are they that expensive and why would it be worth that count of money!!!
Whats thier advantages anyway?!

which brands can you recommend for me?!

Thanks,

hello,
i just looked on the web site they are expensive.
some dishes are designed for high wind 140 km/hour.
some for uplink to satellite.if this dish is for home use to sepnd that much for a dish is pointless.
the thing you should look for is :
gain at the ku band
wind load that won't flex the dish 130 to 140 km/h
good LNB
sensitive satellite receiver
short cable length
good cable quality.
offset dish has the better gain.
there are a lot of dishes that cost 1/3 the price you quoted that will do the job just as well.

They may be more expensive but they will last a long time.My 1.2m has lasted about 12 years and is still going strong.Regards.

yes, i would agree with "colinp"
they are strongly built, so as to last (heavy-fibreglass )- my 1.8 offset is around 18 years old now --
i bought it second hand 10 years ago - and it is still giving first class performance

well ok i got the point
however i threw the idea away as its extremely expensive
can you point at an offset dish of 2.4 M diameter other than andrews?if there is any?
