Hi, I'm in Valencia, Spain, we got our system up and running today and where warned that we might loose BBC & ITV in the evening.

We have lost them and I was wondereing if you have any ideas to get them?

Also the Panasonic box keeps freezing with the 'remote command' red light stuck on. Both the box and control are 6 years old - any ideas???

Thanks:)

If you are losing the channels in the evening and the dish has been set up professionally, then it may be that only a larger dish will solve the problem. What dish and LNB are you using?

With regard to the locking up of the receiver, I seem to remember reading here that this has become a problem with the Panasonic receivers in low signal situations.

If its a Pansonic TU-DSB30 then I'm afraid you will either have to change the box for a Pace 2600 or put up with the problem. They started doing it after sky updated the software some months ago and it was never rectified.

As for the dish, well that best cure is of course, to get a bigger one. You mention you have a 0.3 LNB. What make is it.

Better still just post some piccys of the dish & LNB and we will advise.

Cheers

Nick

Upgrading the dish to a larger size will solve the freezing problem also..
I have noticed that the freezing problem on DSB30's dissapear if default transponder is present (11778V)

2 mtrs shouldnt really cause problems in valencia itself.Id go for an adjustment of the LNB,just as it is beginning to break up in the evening.

I also had the freezing problem with Panasonic 30 until I invested in a bigger dish. (1.6 in Midsweden).

I never had a problem with 11778V as is on 2A's north beam and very strong where I live. I think the behaviour of Panasonic in Cyprus must be caused by corresponding low signal levels of 2D and 2A north beam. If one is low so would the other also be?

Nick, here are a couple of piccies. As you can see we haven't cemented the base down yet, but we got all channels ok during the day so I don't recon it's moved. Also no probs with freezing box

Have you tried different skew settings? twist the LNB anticlockwise a bit to see if there is a difference...Skew adjustment is critical on 2D..
Also, investing in a quad invacom will definately improve your signal..
