Please Help ...Technomate 8000 HD PVR Question!

My Satellite Setup
N/A
Hello All,

Im very interested in the Technomate TM-8000 HD 120 MC CI PVR

1) The unit spec says it has 'High-specified digital multi-satellite PVR receiver with twin Common Interface slots' - Is this a twin tuner??? - does this mean I can record one programme while watching another. Does It have 2 LNB inputs, ie, I can attach my Sky dish and motorised dish thats on 15w to the unit?

Thanks

Hi theorangelaptopguy,
it doesn't look like it has twin tuners, maybe the next model, 2xCI is Common Interface slots for putting CAM's into, Conditional Access Modules, like the Dragon Cam, Diablo, Conax, Viaccess etc....
Best wishes
Mickha

Hi theorangelaptopguy,

If you're still interested, I bought a Technomate 8000 in late 2003 and struggled with it for a few months. It dropped out frequently when watching programmes and the promised software updates were not available. It didn't meet its spec in many areas and I returned it through my supplier in the summer of 2004.

Instead I bought a Dreambox 7000s, which has been excellent and the Technomate 8000 seems to have been withdrawn from the market. I corresponded with two other Technomate 8000 owners who had also traded theirs in.

It is worth searching for Technomate 8000 problems on google.

The 2ci means that it has two cam slots.

Hope this helps.
