Please Help with WCD1510

Hey all, total noob here :)
I did some search but couldn't find anything.
I have a WCD1510 receiver, it looks like this one :

On the back it says DVBC1200 and in the system information it says WCD1510.
I'm having a problem where sometimes the receiver just freezes and won't take any command via remote or buttons untill I turn it off and then back on from the switch on the back.
I just acquired this receiver and don't have a manual for it.
I'm suspecting it needs a software update but I don't know how to or where to get it.
Please can someone help with this? If I update, will I lose my channels?
One more question, if I restore to defaults, will I lose all my channels?

What is it you are wanting to watch with this receiver? What channels can you already receive on which satellites?
From the sound of it someone may have already tried to download some incorrect software. The basis of the unit is an ST5105 processor so you need to be looking at software for that processor. There doesn't appear to be much manufacturer support available indeed only a sales brochure is available no updates or upgrades, but I suspect you are not looking for manufacturer support.

The receiver is working fine most of the time, the freeze thing only occur once in a while, especially when I start clicking on the remote a lot. Other than that it receives channels fine.
The receiver has the writings "Digital Vision" on it, in case this can be useful.
Any help regarding the software update would be great!
 
To be honest it is probably a clone of something else however I have never heard of it so sorry cannot help you with software, I suspect there may not be any available but others may know different
