Hi,
I'm close to buying an Edison os mio 4k s2x + t2/c.

I have a 1tb Sandisk usb3 ssd in either vfat32 or exFat. Cannot remember. It's full of films in mpeg4 hevc, mkv and avi. The films are mostly in 21:9.

Can I use the Edison to play the media from this usb disc?

Good news.

Will the Edison also display the 21:9 films correctly on an ultrawide 21:9 LG monitor?

cant answer that one, why not, it can handle 4k so why not

Probably not. 21:9 is far from 4K.

Most TV style devices devices cannot do 21:9. Resolution is poorly defined, but around 3440×1440 / 3840×1600.

e.g My Amazon FS 4K won't output to a 21:9 monitor. Black screen. This is because the Amazon FS 4K sends a 4K ratio but the monitor is set to 3440×1440 ( montitor does 2160p which is 4K but not 21:9).

sounds like you know all the answers - so i will bow out.

Die derzeitigen (6.3 und mindestens auch 6.2) Einstellungen passen perfekt, sowohl am Samsung Plasma als auch aktuell am LG OLED.
