PMs are a privilege granted when a person has been a member for a while and has racked up some meanigful posts. This rule was introduced to prevent spamming of the forum.

But anyway, what do you need PM facilities for - surely this is question that could be answered on the forum? This is what a forum is all about, after all, helping each other.
