Poosible fault or normal

Hi Guys

I've just received my Dreambox 500s and installed it where my Sk*Panasonic box lived, using all the same cables. Obviously I was able to receive many channels, Discovery, Film 4, Sky 1 etc., but I then noticed that the picture would break up as if the dish wasn't tuned in correctly although the Panasonic worked perfectedly.

This is an out of the box install, no new F/W yet and so I'm a bit worried about whether there is a tuner fault.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum :)

The tuner in the Dreambox is not quite as strong as others (or is more sensitive?). Have you tried adjusting your dish position; your old receiver may have been more forgiving if it was slightly misaligned.

I should have given this some more observation before posting!!

It only breaks up on the Sk* channels like Sk*1 and the sports which the fact that I can see them at all is amazing when my viewing card is still in the Panasonic!! Travel and shpping channels are stable.

The Web interface and Web X tv is impressive, at the moment I'm like a kid at Christmas!

Now to drill a hole in my motorhome roof and mount the dish:eek:

I dare say I will be posting again.
