Famaval told me that the sole importer of their dishes into Spain is Digital Satellite Systems in Finestrat.robburne said:Hi,
Can anyone point me in the direction of a reputable stockist of Portuguese 1.9m dishes on the Spanish mainland.
Thanks in advance,
Rob.
Just wondering, if that is so what about Tecatel in Gandia?Huevos said:Famaval told me that the sole importer of their dishes into Spain is Digital Satellite Systems in Finestrat.
When I contacted Famaval a while back they sent me an email saying DSS is the sole importer into Spain and if I wanted a dish that is who I should contact.woborny said:Just wondering, if that is so what about Tecatel in Gandia?
Where do they get their Fams from? DSS or direct from Famaval?
The retail price on that dish is 440€, plus you need a groundstand, feedhorn and LNB.Mumha said:On the presumption that the €615 was a rip off, how much should one expect to pay for a 1.9m dish ?

Looking at ebay, a C120 INVACOM QUAD LNB & FEEDHORN FOR PRIME FOCUS DISH is about €100 inc postage a Pace 2600 box for about €100, and a groundstand €30-40, so someone supplying all the above would be about €680 to €700. Seeing as some are charging €1000 (including the install), that's a nice bit of profit !
If you take trade prices into account you are talking well over 500 Euro profit on a 1000 Euro install.trigger said:I agree earning 300 for the install is not a bad days work
Huevos said:Mumha, where are you? I tried to PM you but I can't because you're too new to the forum.
trigger said:I agree earning 300 for the install is not a bad days work but it's all about the service that is being supplied. If the installer is a good guy then he will:
a) Pay his taxes, national insurance (or the equalivalent), pay an accountant etc.
b) Drive and maintain a vehicle for work.
c) Guarantee his work for at least 12 months ( realign dish etc as it got a bit windy - even when it was actually a Hurricane).
d) Guarantee the equipment for 12 months or 2 years in Spain (exchange if faulty - have to pay postage to send back faulty goods - wait 3 months for any replacements -drive to and from your house at least twice.
Right then I've finished moaning and the real point of my post is :- yes it's great to buy cheap off fleabay but if you want after sales service then you have to pay for it. Yes as I said 300 is too much. There are cowboys out there that will take your money and give you a crap service but also there are real genuine installers that give you a quality service for a reasonable price.
