Power adapter problem

Yesterday I noticed the green standby light was flashing but the receiver wouldn't power on, the power adapter was making a buzzing noise so I unplugged, now when plugged in the green light is on the power adapter is green but no power seems to be getting to the receiver, but the buzzing noise has gone! Anyway I tried a multi adapter which outputs 12v but the dreambox doesn't want to boot, just displays the GP logo and says starting cam then reboots and gets doing this! so I tried another netgear 12v adapter an the box booted. As it has been a while since I have watched the tv in the bedroom I did a factory reset as it wasn't showing the bouquet's thenI did a transponder scan and the box appeared to have crashed when scanning 28.2e on the last 7 seconds! now the box doesn't boot, just stays on GP logo and then appears to switch off and repeat the same screen! Do you guys think the image is messed up or the adapter doesn't have enough poke?
