It's the power supply, classic Pace problem, right across the range. We don't deal with cable here, but I'll transfer this to the Workbench section and see if anyone has experience in the repair.

This can happen with a power surge - you could try contacting your insurance company they sometimes cover this.

Try a phone call to PACE they can repair the box or sell you the parts (much cheaper).

You will have to have some electronics experience to repair it yourself or get a electrician friend to do it.

There's companies that repair Pace Sky digiboxes, which usually means power supply, ntl boxes probably have same components, so might they do that too? Worth asking.
