Hi
We are going to build a private house in Germany (suburb of Frankfurt am Main), but I'm not quite sure if my plans for satellite TV Setup are correct. Can you help me to clarify what is needed and plan properly.
The general idea is next:
- Place the dish with LNB Head like (DUR-line Select 75/80) with motor on the roof of the building
- Buy the DVBSky S960CI USB Box or other Linux compatible receiver
- Connect it to TVHeadEnd on raspberry pi or in-house server located in the basement of our house
- Get the SAT Signal from satellites with UK, German and Russian channels (maybe also US channels)
- Deliver channels from TVHeadEnd over IP to IPTV enabled TV, Amazon Fire TV stick or IPTV player on IOS (setup of CATV, CAT7 and WIFI networks in house will be done accordingly)
Will this work in location shown on pictures below?
If so, I have few newbie questions:
Thanks in advance.

If so, I have few newbie questions:
- Is 80 cm dish enough? Or if I will take 1m dish, would it be OK for the motor?
- Can someone recommend better / alternative receiver with HD quality for Linux-based setup?
- What kind of motor will work best?
- Which LNB Head I need? Make it sense to take Dual LNB for some future use or put wideband if required for some Russian channels?
Thanks in advance.
