I have not come across this one before.I have smileys popping up in the bottom right of my desktop.Notification area ?.Kasperskey finds no virus on the computer.I don't know where they are coming from.It is not a problem I will sort it by installing one of my many clonezilla images. But it would be nice to know where they are coming from. They have appeared since I registered on another sat forum a few days ago.Maybe they are coming from there.
Has anyone come across this before.
Edit if I hover the curser over them they disappear

Have you tried a scan with Malwarebytes?

No I only have kaspersky antivirus. In fact because I am going to reimage my computer.I have just allowed Microsoft Malicius software tool to install maybe that will find it.Normally I will not let it install.

Try malwarebytes before you reimage - its supposed to be pretty good.

Microsoft Malicius tool finds nothing.
I will have a look at malwarebytes.

Tried Malwarebytes. It found some non malware possibly unwanted programs.I deleted them.I will wait to see if they reappear.

Good one this.I just opened DVBdream to look at a transponder that has been posted.A smiley popped up on the bottom right. I find that every time I open DVBdream I get a :).
The blue cross in the box is Divx updater.Maybe something to do with that.
Good intit.:)

I think that I may have found it.It looks like it is a plugin that I installed a few days ago.
If I click on one while DVBDream is open.It opens vPLUG. A plugin that I installed a few days ago.
False alarm again.:):):)

Those smileys are from the vPlug plugin within DVBDream. If you don't use vPlug then you can delete it. Nothing malicious going on.

I get the same in my notification area, but doesn't bother me as they are hidden.
